If USC wants Bellotti, it might have to wait a while

Oregon athletic director Mike Bellotti, reported as a potential candidate to replace Pete Carroll at USC, underwent double-knee replacement surgery last Monday and remains in the hospital, according to an Oregon spokesperson.

An email from sports information director Dave Williford said Bellotti, who stepped down as Oregon's coach last year, remains "under some form of sedation" and his "recovery has hit him a little harder than anticipated."

It's probably fair to say that Bellotti's probably not going to be USC's coach next year.
