Pac-12 recruiting roundup

It's been a busy few weeks on the recruiting front since we last checked in with a roundup. Lots of new names and commitments. Some big names, some potential sleepers.

First the ESPN recruiting folks have updated the team rankings. You can see that hereInsider.

Now here's a look at where each school stands.

2013 verbal commitments: 17

Spotlight: Offensive tackle Calvin Allen (Albuquerque, N.M.) is one of the newest players to commit to the Wildcats, who have picked up 11 verbals this month. He also plays defensive end in high school, but projects as a better offensive lineman at the next level. Brandon Cox (Pasadena, Calif.), who committed Thursday, is the third QB of the class.

Spotlight: Athlete Chans Cox (Lakeside, Ariz.), who committed last week, is a huge get for Todd Graham because it keeps the state's No. 5 player in-house. He was offered by most of the Pac-12 and other big-time schools like Nebraska, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. Some schools were recruiting him as a fullback, but he likely projects as a middle linebacker.

Spotlight: While quarterback Jared Goff remains the jewel of the class, the newest addition, kicker Matt Anderson (Danville, Calif.), might turn out to be a steal if his college game matches his high school power.

2013 verbal commitments: 11

Spotlight: Four-star, dual-threat quarterback Sefo Liufau from Tacoma, Wash., is still the headliner. But the addition of offensive line teammates Jonathan Huckins and Sam Kronshage (The Woodlands, Texas) last week are giving the Buffs a very respectable offensive line group.

Spotlight: Just what Oregon needs. More speed. The recent commit of four-star receiver Darren Carrington gives the Ducks five players on the offensive side of the ball. Carrington comes from a small school in San Diego, but proved himself at the Oakland Nike Football Training Camp. He told ESPN.com's Erik McKinney it was a "dream" offer and he immediately committed. Here's some video of Carrington. He gets off the line awfully fast and the jump at :54 is pretty sweet.

2013 verbal commitments: 1

Spotlight: The Beavers finally got on the board with the commitment of Terin Solomon (Murrieta, Calif.). The defensive specialist, who can play safety or linebacker but probably translates to a safety in college, had 97 tackles last season and forced five fumbles.

Spotlight: The Cardinal identified their quarterback early with Ryan Burns, now they added a weapon for him in Francis Owusu, a Stanford legacy with good size (6-2, 200) who is likely to mature into a viable red zone target. Here's some video on Owusu.

ESPN 150 members: 2 (Ryan Burns, QB, Ashburn Va.; Isaac Savaiinaea, ILB, Honolulu, Hi.)

ESPN 300 members: 4 (Doug Randolph, OLB, Woodberry Forest, Va.; Francis Owusu, WR, Westlake Village, Calif.)

2013 verbal commitments: 8

Spotlight: The pickup of linebacker Myles Jack (Bellevue, Wash.) this week was a good one for Jim Mora and Co. because Jack adds depth to an already good linebacking class with Deon Hollins Jr. and Cameron Judge, but it also keeps him away from the eight other schools in the conference who offered him a scholarship. Worth noting that five of the Bruins commits are out of state.

ESPN 150 members: 1 (Deon Hollins Jr., OLB, Missouri City, Texas)

ESPN 300 members: 2 (Keyante Green, RB, McDonough, Ga.)

2013 verbal commitments: 10

Spotlight: Su'a Cravens (Murrieta, Calif.) takes an already amazing class and makes it that much better. Almost every Pac-12 school wanted the hard-hitting, athletic defensive player who can be either a linebacker or safety. Here's some video of Cravens.

ESPN 150 members: 8 (Kenny Bigelow, DT, Elkton Md.; Max Browne, QB, Sammamish Wash.; Su'a Cravens, S, Murrieta, Calif.; Ty Isaac, RB, Joliet, Il.; Chris Hawkins, CB, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; Kylie Fitts, DE, Redlands, Calif.; Steven Mitchell, WR, Mission Hills, Calif.; Sebastian Larue, WR, Santa Monica, Calif.)

ESPN 300 members: 10 (Eldridge Massington, WR, Mesquite Texas; Justin Davis, RB, Stockton, Calif.)

2013 verbal commitments: 5

Spotlight: Defensive end Myron Aiava (Westminster, Calif.), who committed earlier this week, is the second defensive player in the class that has gone after offensive size to date (two offensive linemen and a tight end). The SoCal native said he's looking forward to playing against the teams he grew up watching.

Spotlight: Washington had one of the biggest surges in the conference this month with the additions of big wide receiver Darrell Daniels and dual-threat quarterback Troy Williams. Daniels is the No. 8-rated wide receiver and the ESPN scouting report describes him as "a galloping horse of a weapon." Here's some video and the flanker screen at :38 backs up the claim.

2013 verbal commitments: 9

Spotlight: It's been a mad dash on the Palouse this month with the Cougars adding seven players in June, headlined by four-star quarterback Tyler Bruggman (Phoenix, Ariz.). Both Arizona schools were interested, but the 18th-rated pocket passer in the country was lured by the prospect of the Air Raid. Here's some video. Pretty ball at 1:44.
