Quick look at Week 3 Pac-12 games

Here's a quick look at Week 3 in the Pac-12. All times are ET.


Washington State (1-1) at UNLV (0-2) 9 p.m., ESPN: The Cougars have won all five meetings with UNLV, including a 59-7 victory over the Rebels in Martin Stadium in 2011. The Cougars have only played in Las Vegas once before, a 40-13 win in 1991. In the game, Drew Bledsoe ran for two touchdowns and also threw for one and the Cougars saw Jason Hanson set an NCAA record with a 62- yard field goal in the fourth quarter.


California (1-1) at No. 12 Ohio State (2-0) noon, ABC: Ohio State leads the series 5-1 but the teams haven't played since 1972, a 35-18 Buckeyes victory. Buckeyes quarterback Braxton Miller has accounted for seven touchdowns, passing for three and rushing for four.

Tennessee Tech (2-0) at No. 4 Oregon (2-0) 3 p.m., Pac-12 Network: First meeting. Tennessee Tech is 0-28 against FBS programs. Tennessee Tech is coached by Watson Brown, brother to Texas coach Mack Brown. The Golden Eagles are coming off a 42-14 victory over Division II North Greenville.

Portland State (1-1) at Washington (1-1) 4 p.m., FX: First meeting between the Northwest teams. The Vikings are coached by former two-time Husky captain Nigel Burton, who is in his third season at Portland State. Two former Huskies are on his staff, linebackers Lester Towns and Ikaika Malloe.

Arizona State (2-0) at Missouri (1-1) 7 p.m., ESPN2: The series is split 3-3, with the Sun Devils winning 37-30 in overtime last season in Tempe. ASU is 0-2 in Columbia. The Tigers left the Big 12 for the SEC this season, and the Sun Devils are 0-5 all-time against SEC schools.

No. 2 USC (2-0) at No. 21 Stanford (2-0) 7:30 p.m., FOX: Stanford is USC's oldest current rival, as the teams first played in 1905. The Trojans have dropped three in a row in the series and four of the past five, including last year in triple overtime and at the gun in 2010. USC has never lost four straight to Stanford.

Colorado (0-2) at Fresno State (1-1) 8 p.m., CBS Sports Network: This will be the sixth meeting between Colorado and Fresno State, but the first between the two schools at Bulldog Stadium. Colorado leads the series 4-1. The Bulldogs' only victory came in 2001, 24-22, behind quarterback David Carr.

No. 25 BYU (2-0) at Utah (1-1) 10 p.m., ESPN2: Utah leads the series 55-34-4, although the Cougars don’t recognize six games (split equally 3-3) when it was known as the Brigham Young Academy. The Utes have won seven of the last 10 games with the Cougars, including a 54-10 victory in Provo last year. Utah has won four of the last five contests in Salt Lake City. Utah and BYU competed in the same conference for 113 years until parting ways last year when the Utes began membership in the Pac-12 Conference and the Cougars went independent.

South Carolina State (1-1) at No. 24 Arizona (2-0) 10:30 p.m. Pac-12 Network: First meeting. The Wildcats are trying for their first five-game winning streak since 1998.

Houston (0-2) at No. 22 UCLA (2-0) 10:30 p.m. Pac-12 Network: Series is tied 3-3, with the Cougars winning 38-34 last year. But that was with Case Keenum at quarterback and Kevin Sumlin as coach. The Cougars have lost to Texas State and Louisiana Tech.
