Doug Martin and Charles Sims comprise a fine tailback pair. But Le'Veon Bell won't even entertain the thought of those two surpassing the Steelers' tandem of Bell-DeAngelo Wiliams in the positional pantheon.
Bell must have seen the message from the @NFL Twitter feed this week that read: 'The top RB duo in the league? Don't sleep on these guys from the @TBBuccaneers.'
Bell replied directly to Williams with the message "comedyyyyyyy."

Yes, that's seven y's.
Of course, the NFL.com story isn't claiming that Martin/Sims is the best duo. It's a story built around Bucs GM Jason Licht saying at the NFL owners meetings that Martin/Sims "absolutely" can be that. Every team is conditioned to think its players are the best, and the Steelers are no different. If you survey the Steelers' locker room, they'll say they have the best everything on offense: best quarterback, best receiver, best running back and best offensive line.
Martin and Sims combined for 2,763 yards last year, more than the 1,966 between Bell and Williams. The context is that Bell missed 10 games to injury and suspension and the offense played without Ben Roethlisberger for four games, which stunted pass-catching opportunities for Bell. Williams scored 11 touchdowns, tying Martin and Sims' combined total.
Based on the eye test, guessing most would agree with Bell's assertion that he and Williams are a better pair. Perhaps 2016 will determine for sure.
