WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres always has been a competitor.
So when she was asked to take on WWE superstar CM Punk to eat a fan-submitted flavor of Habanero-Wasabi Combos snack, she didn't hesitate.
"I know I'm kind of a wuss when it comes to spicy foods," Torres said, "but I really wanted to win. It was a lot of fun. You need to see the video."
Torres, who was a shy child, will try almost anything. She has been a dancer, model and actress. And, oh yeah, she graduated from USC with a degree in Industrial Systems Engineering.
"My goal was to always get my degree," she said. "Once I did that, I thought I could pursue any other passion because I had something to fall back on if I needed it."
So far, she hasn't needed to do that.
Torres became a member of the Los Angeles Clippers' spirit squad in 2006, but that wasn't fulfilling enough. She won the WWE's Diva Search in 2007 and became a pro wrestler in 2009.
"It's been one event after another that I'm surprising myself," Torres said. "It's constantly about pushing yourself into things that might sound impossible in your mind. That's what my career is about."
Tonight, she and the rest of the WWE Superstars will be on USA Network at 9 p.m. for the WWE "Tribute to the Troops" holiday special.
With a background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, would she ever consider jumping into mixed martial arts?
"I love what they do over there, but I'm more about entertainment and WWE allows me to have best of both worlds," she said. "I'm just sending a message to women that you can be anything you want to be."
