Sept. 26, 1998: On this day 14 years ago, the longest losing streak -- by a lot -- in Division I college football history finally, joyfully came to an end.

It happened in Prairie View, Texas, where Prairie View A&M had dropped an almost unfathomable 80 games in a row (compared to Columbia's 44-game losing streak, or Northwestern's I-A mark of 34) since 1989. But this night would be the Panthers', as coach Greg Johnson earned his only win in two seasons by beating his old school, Langston State, 14-12 ... on a stopped two-point conversion with 34 seconds left.

Yeah, they celebrated.
