Manti Te'o and Michael Bennett workout partners in Hawaii

SAN DIEGO -- Competitors on the field, San Diego Chargers linebacker Manti Te’o and Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett are helping each other get better off of it.

The two defensive players are training together in Hawaii.

Te’o is a native Hawaiian who annually returns home to train for part of the offseason. Bennett’s wife Pele is Hawaiian, and the couple has an offseason home there, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

Te’o and Bennett attended a University of Hawaii spring football practice this week.

“We met each other four years ago and we’ve been training together for awhile,” Bennett told the Star-Advertisor.

“I’m always with Mike. He wanted to come watch so I joined him,” said Te’o.
