SAN DIEGO – With the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets already showing interest in offensive coordinator Frank Reich, the San Diego Chargers could potentially take another hit to their coaching staff.
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports that Chargers linebackers coach Joe Barry is among the potential candidates for the Washington Redskins defensive coordinator position left vacant when the team parted ways with Jim Haslett.
Barry, 44, has been the linebackers coach for the Chargers since 2012. He was the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions in 2007-08 and worked on the coaching staff of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2009 as the linebackers coach. Both Washington general manager Bruce Allen and head coach Jay Gruden have ties to Tampa Bay.
