Chargers have 16th-toughest 2015 schedule

SAN DIEGO -- Once again, the San Diego Chargers' strength of schedule is in the middle of the pack for the 2015 season.

Based on opponent records from last season, the Chargers face the 16th-toughest strength of schedule in the NFL. San Diego’s opponents finished with a combined winning percentage of .518 in 2014.

Even though San Diego faced one of the toughest divisions in the NFL last season, the Chargers went 3-1 against the NFC West and finished with a final 2014 strength of schedule of .512 (15th in the NFL).

Along with facing their traditional AFC West rivals, the Chargers take on the AFC North and NFC North. San Diego plays eight teams with .500 or better records from last season.

Home games for the Chargers include AFC West foes the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders, along with the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins.

Road games for San Diego include the Broncos, Chiefs and Raiders, along with the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Steelers have the toughest strength of schedule to begin the 2015 season, facing teams with a combined winning percentage of .579 from last season, followed by the Bengals (.563) and San Francisco 49ers (.561).

In the AFC West, the Raiders and the Chiefs are tied for the No. 7 toughest schedule in the NFL at .545, and the Broncos (.541) have the 10th toughest schedule.
