The San Francisco 49ers might be making this a family affair, after all.
Already linked to the guy who was their offensive coordinator the last time they won a Super Bowl -- 20 years ago -- and a head coach at three different locations with the Los Angeles Raiders, Denver Broncos, and Washington in Mike Shanahan, the Niners have inquired about Kyle Shanahan, per the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
The younger Shanahan, 35, is currently the Cleveland Browns' offensive coordinator and worked under his father in Washington previously, working with quarterback Robert Griffin III there before having Johnnie Manziel in Cleveland.
The Niners’ next coach is expected to revamp the offense with Colin Kaepernick under center.
Other potential candidates linked to the Niners:
Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase
New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels
Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn
Former New York Jets coach Rex Ryan
Former Los Angeles Raiders/Denver Broncos/Washington coach/Niners O.C. Mike Shanahan
Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin
Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles
49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio
49ers defensive line coach Jim Tomsula
UCLA coach Jim Mora
