49ers sign OLB Shawn Lemon in wake of Aldon Smith's release

The San Francisco 49ers have signed outside linebacker Shawn Lemon, who was with the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason after spending time in the Canadian Football League as well as the Arena League.

The move comes a day after the 49ers cut pass-rushing linebacker Aldon Smith.

Coach Jim Tomsula also gave an injury report in advance of Saturday's 4:15 p.m. PT padded practice:

Not practicing: DL Tank Carradine (sick), WR Bruce Ellington (leg), ILB Phillip Wheeler (leg).
