Reggie Bush listed as 'doubtful' for 49ers vs. Cardinals

Running back Reggie Bush (calf) was listed as doubtful to play for the San Francisco 49ers at the Arizona Cardinals after missing practice again on Friday. Bush has not suited up since straining his left calf on his second carry for the Niners in their season-opening victory against the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 14.

Earlier in the day, coach Jim Tomsula said Bush’s status would be dependent upon whether the running back practiced or not on Friday. Bush has been working with a trainer on a side field.

“He’s looking really good,” Tomsula said. “We haven’t had him in practice, but we’ve had him in our workouts … we could probably do one of those 80-percenter things and I’m not interested in 80 percent. To me, 80 percent starts to linger. If he’s really rolling and feeling really good, then we will move accordingly. But if there’s anything there, we’re not going to do it.”

Following, then, is the 49ers’ status report for this Sunday’s game at Arizona:

DOUBTFUL: RB Reggie Bush (calf)

QUESTIONABLE: WR Bruce Ellington (ankle), TE Vance McDonald (knee)

PROBABLE: TE Blake Bell (back), G Alex Boone (shoulder), LB NaVorro Bowman (not injury related), RB Carlos Hyde (quadricep), WR Torrey Smith (knee).
