San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde has a foot issue and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens at Levi’s Stadium, though coach Jim Tomsula said he expects Hyde to suit up.
Hyde sat out practice on Wednesday and was limited Thursday and Friday.
“His foot’s hurt,” Tomsula said. “His foot is sore, so they put an orthotic in there and I know you’ve got to get used to wearing the orthotic. So, they are doing that. Fully expect him to play and those things, but I know we have to manage it.”
Tomsula was asked if Hyde injured the foot in Sunday night’s game at the New York Giants, when he rushed for a game-high 93 yards and a touchdown.
“Yeah, he dinged his foot, or I’m not sure if he was planting or somebody stepped on it or what happened there,” Tomsula said. “But, he came out of there, and he didn’t say. It’s just, his foot was sore.”
Backup running back Reggie Bush, who re-aggravated his strained left calf, is listed as doubtful, so if Hyde gets banged up against the Ravens, the only two other running backs are rookies Jarryd Hayne and Mike Davis.
There were two new adds to the Niners' injury report on Friday: rookie linebacker Eli Harold and guard Brandon Thomas.
Here is the 49ers’ status report for Sunday’s game against the Ravens:
DOUBTFUL: RB Reggie Bush (calf)
QUESTIONABLE: LB Ahmad Brooks (not injury related, shoulder), TE Vernon Davis (knee), Bruce Ellington (calf), LB Eli Harold (knee), RB Carlos Hyde (foot), G Brandon Thomas (ankle)
PROBABLE: G Alex Boone (shoulder), LB NaVorro Bowman (not injury related), TE Vance McDonald (chest), T Joe Staley (knee)
