QB Snapshot: Russell Wilson

A quick observation of quarterback Russell Wilson and how he has played against the Carolina Panthers:

Wilson has been the comeback kid against the Panthers. He’s 3-0 against Carolina (all three were in Charlotte) and he rallied the Seahawks to victories in the second half each time.

In 2012, the Seahawks trailed 10-6 before Wilson threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Golden Tate on a third-and-8 late in the third quarter en route to a 16-12 victory.

Last season, the Seahawks trailed Carolina 7-6 in the fourth quarter when Wilson guided Seattle on a 74-yard drive that ended with a 43-yard deep sideline pass to Jermaine Kearse for the winning touchdown.

This season, the Seahawks trailed the Panthers 9-6 late in the fourth quarter before Wilson led the team on an 80-yard drive that ended with a 23-yard touchdown pass to tight end Luke Willson with 47 seconds to play.

Wilson is 64-of-90 passing (71 percent) overall against Carolina for an average of 247 yards per game and a 91.8 QB rating. The Panthers have done a good job holding down his runs. He has only 54 yards on 16 carries against them.
