Richard Sherman, Will Blackmon among Seahawks' DBs out against Chiefs

It will once again be a skeleton crew in the Seattle Seahawks' secondary during Friday night's preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

Cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Will Blackmon are among 10 Seahawks defensive backs who aren't expected to play, according to a list provided by the team. That total doesn't include starting strong safety Kam Chancellor, who's holding out. Free safety Earl Thomas also won't play, as expected.

Nineteen Seahawks in all are listed as out. That also includes rookie defensive end Frank Clark (ankle) and defensive tackle Jordan Hill (groin).

The others: SS Keenan Lambert, QB Tarvaris Jackson, WR Paul Richardson, WR Chris Matthews, CB Jeremy Lane, CB Tharold Simon, CB Marcus Burley, CB Triston Wade, FS Ryan Murphy, CB Mohammed Seisay, LB Quayshawn Nealy, OT Jesse Davis, TE Cooper Helfet and DT David King.

Cary Williams is expected to start at right cornerback while rookie Tye Smith should see extended playing time on the other side.
