Seahawks' Richard Sherman is not a fan of Thursday night games

RENTON, Wash. -- With the Seattle Seahawks' Thursday night matchup against the San Francisco 49ers looming, cornerback Richard Sherman was asked how he feels about playing on four days' rest.

"I mean, it’s rough," Sherman said. "It’s rough on the body. Any time you play a football game and play another one a few days later, it’s going to be tough on the body. But it’s just another one of those things. Another one of those simple contradictions of the league, because they care about us."

The Seahawks played at San Francisco on Thanksgiving in 2014.

"My family wasn’t happy with that last year," Sherman said. "That’s what I remembered about that. They cooked all that dinner, and I didn’t get to be home for Thanksgiving meal, so my family had a problem with that."

Quarterback Russell Wilson, meanwhile, was much more diplomatic when voicing his opinion of Thursday night games.

"I think Thursday games can be challenging depending on how you look at it," he said. "I think for us, we look forward to the opportunity. We look forward to the challenge of basically cramming your study in and [watching] as much film as you can."
