Seahawks' playoff chances rocket up to 76.4 percent

Two weeks ago, the Seattle Seahawks were worse than a coin-flip bet to get into the postseason.

After a couple wins against the San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers, suddenly things are looking up.

The Seahawks have a 76.4 percent chance to make the playoffs, according to Football Outsiders. They have a 69.8 percent chance to earn a wild-card berth and a 6.6 percent chance to win the division. Seattle's odds went up 22.4 percent this week. Only Washington and Minnesota experienced a greater increase.

ESPN's Football Power Index has slightly different numbers. It gives the Seahawks a 63 percent chance to make the playoffs. With a win over the Minnesota Vikings, it projects that number to increase to 83 percent. But a loss would drop it to 43 percent.

ESPN.com's subjective power rankings have the Seahawks seventh:

"Sunday's win over the Steelers was the first time Russell Wilson won a game when his opponent scored 25 or more points. Wilson was previously 0-10 in those games."

Football Outsiders' DVOA ratings have the Seahawks fifth -- fourth on offense, seventh on defense and fourth on special teams.

The Seahawks' Super Bowl odds did not change this week. They're still at 14 to 1, according to the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.

As for this weekend against the Vikings, the game is a pick 'em.
