Sure, the secondary needs work. But in terms of prioritizing Auburn's defensive needs this offseason, it starts up front.
After finishing 12th in the SEC in sacks last season, new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp has to find a way to create pressure on the quarterback. The rest will follow.
"That's something that we've got to continue to work on," Muschamp said. "We certainly have addressed some things as far as rush is concerned -- as far as protection identification is concerned -- and we need to continue to progress."
Getting Carl Lawson back healthy is a start, but Auburn needs more than that.
After spring practice, Muschamp said he knows of two pass-rushers he can count on. The problem is he needs four.
