Report: No. 2 signee in LSU's class cleared by NCAA

Everything will hit Arden Key at once when he arrives at LSU this fall, but it's better late than never for the four-star signee.

Though it took an extra two weeks and ultimately cost him the summer session, the NCAA has reportedly cleared the 6-foot-5, 225-pound defensive end to enroll in school. He will arrive in August where he'll compete in fall camp as the second-highest rated prospect in LSU's 2015 Class.

The Georgia native was the No. 4-ranked player in the Peach State, the No. 6 defensive end in the country and a top-25 prospect in the ESPN 300. The Under Armour All-American had 15.5 sacks as a senior in high school.

With LSU's top two pass-rushers from last season gone (Danielle Hunter, Jamauria Rasco), Key figures to have a shot at competing for significant playing time as a true freshman.

Fellow 2015 signees Jeremy Cutrer and Chidi Valentine-Okeke have not made it to campus yet as they await the thumbs up from the NCAA. Brandon Martin, a four-star receiver from Dallas, won't play at LSU this year after enrolling at a junior college.
