It's no guarantee that Robbie Caldwell will return following the 2010 season as Vanderbilt's head football coach, but the university has lifted the interim tag from his title.
Vanderbilt vice chancellor David Williams made the announcement at a Nashville Rotary Club meeting Monday and told The Tennessean's Bryan Mullen afterward that it was a show of support for Caldwell, who took over last month when Bobby Johnson retired.
"I think what it says is we see Robbie as our head football coach," Williams said. "I don’t want to start any speculation one way or the other, but we see him as our head football coach. We’re 100 percent behind him and his staff."
