As big as Saturday’s win was for Vanderbilt, it might have been a season-stopper for Ole Miss.
Losing by two touchdowns at home to the Commodores is going to be especially tough for Houston Nutt to explain when you consider this team lost two weeks ago at home to FCS foe Jacksonville State.
It wasn’t a fluke, either. Vanderbilt was just better and made more plays to win the game.
Really, it’s been all downhill for the Rebels ever since they won that appeal to get Jeremiah Masoli eligible the Friday before their season opener.
Not much of anything has gone right for them ever since. The danger now is that Nutt loses this team.
Of course, I’m sure Ole Miss fans are saying: How can it get any worse than losing to an FCS team at home and then two weeks later losing to Vanderbilt by two touchdowns at home?
