While there are bound to be all sorts of names associated with the Florida head coaching search, keep in mind that Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley will place a high premium on whether or not that person is the right fit.
In addition to the obvious names already out there like Oklahoma's Bob Stoops, Stanford's Jim Harbaugh, Mississippi State's Dan Mullen, Louisville's Charlie Strong, Boise State's Chris Petersen and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden, keep an eye on guys like Connecticut's Randy Edsall, Houston's Kevin Sumlin and Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp.
As for Bobby Petrino, the early word is that it's a lot more likely he's at Arkansas next season than he is at Florida.
Edsall and Sumlin are also both candidates at Miami.
The other hot commodity in the SEC, although he's not necessarily in play at Florida, is Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn. He remains high on Vanderbilt's list, although it might benefit Malzahn at this point to sit back and see what kind of domino effect takes shape once the Florida and Miami jobs are filled.
