The Gainesville Sun over the weekend ran a list of its top 50 senior prospects in the state of Florida , and guess which school has the most commitments from the players on that list?
It's not Florida.
Nope, it's Jimbo Fisher and Florida State.
The Seminoles have 13 commitments, including four of the top 10 players in the state. Two of the top 10 players -- linebacker Tony Steward of St. Augustine and defensive tackle Tim Jernigan of Columbia -- are still undecided, but have FSU among their finalists.
Florida's lone commitment among the top 10 players in the state is quarterback Jeff Driskel, who's rated No. 1 overall and is already signed and enrolled in school. The Gators have eight commitments from the top 50 players, but only three of those players are rated in the top 20. Running back Mike Blakely of Bradenton is rated No. 19 overall, and like Driskel, is already enrolled in school. Blakely, however, won't be available for spring practice because he was scheduled to undergo shoulder surgery.
Alabama right now has more commitments/signees from The Sun's top 10 list than Florida. Safety Ha'sean Clinton-Dix of Orlando is rated No. 4 and is committed to Alabama, while running back Demetrius Hart of Orlando is rated No. 10 and has already signed with the Crimson Tide.
