The news wasn't all good for Vanderbilt on Saturday night.
The Commodores pitched their first shutout in a decade with a 45-0 trouncing of Western Carolina, but sophomore quarterback Larry Smith had to be helped off the field with three minutes to play in the third quarter with an injury to his right arm. Mackenzi Adams and Jared Funk finished the game at quarterback for Vanderbilt.
The really unfortunate part about Smith's injury is that it came with the Commodores leading 28-0 late in the third quarter and the game already decided.
