We didn’t expect the SEC bowl picture to clear up a whole lot more three weeks into the season, but there were a few telling developments out there.
Auburn has serious issues on defense. LSU and Alabama are seriously nasty on defense, and there’s not a great team in the Eastern Division this season. At least, not yet.
Arkansas’ second half was nothing to write home about in its 38-28 victory over Troy, but the Hogs were missing some key players.
The reality is that we’ll find out all we need to know about Bobby Petrino’s bunch this coming weekend at Alabama.
And what about those undefeated Vanderbilt Commodores?
Here’s our best guess at the bowl lineup as we head to Week 4 in the SEC:
BCS National Championship Game, Jan. 9: Alabama
Allstate Sugar Bowl, Jan. 3: LSU
Capital One Bowl, Jan. 2: South Carolina
AT&T Cotton Bowl, Jan. 6: Arkansas
Outback Bowl, Jan. 2: Florida
Chick-fil-A Bowl, Dec. 31: Georgia
Gator Bowl, Jan. 2: Tennessee
Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, Dec. 30: Mississippi State
AutoZone Liberty Bowl, Dec. 31: Vanderbilt
BBVA Compass Bowl, Jan. 7: Auburn
