Now that we're done with Week 8, it's time to take a look at the weekend's best from the SEC:

Kyle Christy, P, Florida: He might have made the case that he's the country's best punter with how he boomed the ball in Florida's 44-11 win over South Carolina. He punted the ball seven times (54.3 yards per punt), with a long of 62, and had one punt downed inside the 20-yard line. All seven of his punts went for more than 50 yards. Christy's foot got the Gators out of a few jams when they were backed up on offense. One of his kicks also helped give the Gators a ton of momentum in the second quarter, when Ace Sanders fumbled Christy's 51-yard kick and Trey Burton recovered at South Carolina's 29. Florida scored a touchdown to go ahead 14-3 six plays later.

Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama: He didn't look like much of a freshman Saturday night. In Alabama's 44-13 win over Tennessee, the frosh led all receivers with seven catches for 162 yards and two touchdowns. He just couldn't be contained by Tennessee's cornerbacks. He out-ran guys and out-muscled guys to make plays. He would have had a sweet third touchdown, but his nifty 30-yard catch-and-run for a score on a screen in the third quarter was negated by a penalty.

AJ McCarron, QB, Alabama: The junior had a career night against the Vols. People wondered if he could throw the ball in key situations when asked to, and he definitely delivered with his career-high 306 yards on 17-of-22 passing. He also threw four touchdowns. He had a lot of help from his fantastic offensive line, but thanks to McCarron's arm, 12 of Alabama's 23 first downs came on passing plays. McCarron was both a game manager and a playmaker Saturday. Oh, and the knee is fine.

Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia: The bye week certainly did Murray well. While the Bulldogs were pretty sloppy against Kentucky, Murray did his best to get his boys across the finish line with a 29-24 win. He completed a career-high 30 passes for a career-high 427 yards and had four touchdowns. He also set the school record for career touchdown passes with 75. His 75.95 completion percentage was a school record by a quarterback with at least 30 completions.

Zac Stacy, RB, Vanderbilt: Stacy hadn't seen a 100-yard rushing game in a while, but he came up in a big way for Commodores in their 17-13 win over Auburn. He carried the ball 27 times for 169 yards and a touchdown. He had a long of 30 yards, but his run of the day came on a 27-yarder in the fourth quarter that gave him the school record for career rushing yards. The run broke Frank Mordica's previous school mark of 2,632 rushing yards from 1976-79. Stacy, who already holds the Commodores' single-season rushing record, now has 2,670 career rushing yards.
