Top-ranked Texas falls to No. 9 Kansas State in Manhattan as the list of unbeaten teams in Division I is whittled down to one (Kentucky). The Longhorns, who reached the top of the poll for the first time in program history last Monday, shoot 36.8 pct from the field and commit 18 turnovers. Texas has now lost its last four road games vs. ranked opponents. Kansas State’s win is its first over a team at the top of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll (created in 1997) and third over the No. 1 team in the AP poll.
Kansas State has been unbeatable at home this season, winning its 11 games in Manhattan by an average of nearly 20 points per game. The Wildcats next big test at home will come a week from Saturday, when both No. 3 Kansas and the College Gameday crew visit Manhattan.
