Rams sign rookie tackle Isaiah Battle

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- The St. Louis Rams made a couple of moves involving rookie offensive linemen on Monday evening.

Offensive tackle Isaiah Battle, whom the Rams selected with a fifth-round supplemental draft pick, signed his rookie contract, according to the team's official Twitter account.

Battle was scheduled to report for training camp with the rest of his rookie teammates Monday, handling that small piece of business upon his arrival. While the Rams were busy adding the former Clemson Tigers tackle to the roster, they were also taking care of some business with a different rookie lineman.

The Rams placed guard Cody Wichmann, a sixth-round selection in May, on the active/physically unable to perform list. Wichmann suffered a leg injury during organized team activities and apparently has not fully healed yet.

Wichmann can be activated from the PUP list at any time during the preseason after passing a physical.
