Following Sunday's 31-7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, their fourth straight defeat, the Rams dropped to No. 26 in this week's rankings. That's the lowest they've been all season and 16 spots below their peak position of No. 10.
It wasn't all that long ago that the Rams looked like they were in a spot to make a run at a playoff spot and were riding a two-game winning streak. After falling just short in a hard-fought game against No. 6 Minnesota, the wheels have come off pretty quickly.
Sunday's loss was the second 24-point defeat in three weeks as the No. 5 Cincinnati Bengals rolled to a victory. The loss dropped the Rams four spots from last week's perch at No. 22. They fell just one spot the week before.
It won't get any easier for the Rams this week as they face another tough opponent, the No. 4 Arizona Cardinals. The Rams did beat the Cardinals in Arizona earlier this season but things were much different then. If they can somehow pull off another upset, they'll likely take a big leap in next week's power rankings and move to 4-0 in the NFC West division.
