Stanford, Colorado about to kickoff

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- We're almost underway at Stanford Stadium. A couple of more notes:

  • According to various reports, Colorado wide receiver Paul Richardson injured his knee earlier this week in practice and will not play against Stanford. Combine that with the eight defensive backs who are out (either injured or suspended) and Colorado is going to have a hard time scraping together a complete roster. Much of the pass-catching responsibilities will probably fall on tight end Ryan Deehan -- who is cut from a similar cloth as Stanford's tight ends. Only difference is Stanford has three of them.

  • There are about 10 NFL scouts in the press box this afternoon at Stanford Stadium, and something tells me they're not here for the build-your-own sandwich bar (which is pretty darn good, by the way).

  • Pregame Pee Wee football is awesome.

  • A noticeably smaller crowd than last week's sellout against UCLA.

  • Perfect football weather. No clouds, slight breeze.

Enjoy. Game on!
