Cavaliers' loss not a surprise, but Troy Daniels continues to be one

With no LeBron James, Kyrie Irving or Kevin Love, the Cleveland Cavaliers were beaten 93-85 by the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Cavaliers posted season lows in points (85), field goal percentage (37 percent), 3-point field goals (9) and assists (10). James, Irving and Love have scored more than 85 points in games three times this season.

The Cavaliers' top three scorers tonight were James Jones (15), Kay Felder (14) and Mike Dunleavy (11). They entered the day averaging 2.8, 3.2 and 3.9 points per game, respectively.

The Grizzlies are the only team to defeat both the Warriors and Cavaliers this season. They beat both teams in a five-day span, holding each team to its season low in points. Memphis also improved to 7-0 in the second game of back-to-backs this season.

Grizzlies guard Troy Daniels produced another nice game. He scored 20 points in 22 minutes off the bench. Daniels totaled 13 points in his first seven games of the season, but since then, he has averaged 15.9 points in his past nine games. That includes 31 points against the Lakers, 29 against the Pelicans and 20 against the Cavaliers. He started the season 3-of-21 from 3-point range, but he's now 28-of-67 (42 percent).

Daniels has played parts of four NBA seasons. He has totaled six 20-point games. Three of them have occurred this month.
