Today's links don't believe that the release of Elijah Dukes was purely a "baseball decision" ...

* One thing "we" haven't done very well, for a long time, is park effects. We've looked at them for a long time, and for a long time we've looked at them terribly crudely. MGL offers one example of a better approach.

* 7th Inning Stache likes what the NBA does on the Web. The MLB, though? Not so much.

* Hey, I'm all for nicknames and The Red Menace is a fine-sounding one ... But I don't think it's going to stick until Jay Bruce actually, you know, menaces someone.

* If we follow Dan O'Dowd's take on Troy Tulowitzki to its logical conclusion, the Rockies may as well start measuring the drapes for Tulowitzki's owner's suite at Coors Field.

* If I didn't know better, I would think the ski jump at Dodger Stadium was the invention of some mad Photoshopper (perhaps inspired by Boilerplate).

* I'm not sure what's more shocking: that there are 64 (!) Phillies-centric blogs, or that someone turned them into an NCAA-style tournament. Anyway, I know who I'm voting for ...

* You know you're a nerd if ... This scouting report (of sorts) tickles one of your special places (as it did one of mine).

* Via Walkoff Walk, your T-shirt of the Week.
