TAMPA, Fla. -- The next stop on our position-by-position look at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the break between minicamp and training camp is the wide receivers.
This is one of the strongest positions on the team, particularly at the top. Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans form one of the best receiver tandems in the league. They each had over 1,000 receiving yards last season and that came without great quarterback play.
That should change with the arrival of quarterback Jameis Winston. Plus, Evans should be better as he enters his second year.
Veteran Louis Murphy is the favorite to be the third receiver, but he could be challenged by rookie Kenny Bell. The competition for the final three receiver spots should be very strong. Russell Shepard is a regular on special teams and rookie Kaelin Clay looks like he'll be the return man. Despite a disappointing rookie season, the Bucs haven't given up on Robert Herron because he has rare speed.
