Jameis Winston off to rocky start for Buccaneers

TAMPA, Fla. -- In college at Florida State, Jameis Winston had a reputation for starting off badly in games.

He stayed true to form in his NFL debut. Winston, the first overall pick in the draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was totally outplayed by second overall pick Marcus Mariota in the first half as the Tennessee Titans built a 35-7 lead over the Bucs.

Give Mariota credit for being sharp. But give Winston plenty of blame. He was dismal.

Winston's first pass was intercepted by Coty Sensabaugh and returned for a touchdown. Winston also had an interception that led to a Tennessee touchdown late in the second quarter. Winston wasn't under pressure on either of the interceptions.

Mariota, meanwhile, threw four first-half touchdown passes. The Bucs were booed by the home crowd as they came off the field at halftime.
