TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft, was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for November on Thursday.
Winston completed 96 of 169 passes for 1,179 yards, with seven touchdowns and three interceptions, and led the Bucs to a 3-2 mark in November.
In Week 11 against the Eagles, Winston threw for five touchdowns with no interceptions, becoming the first rookie since Ray Buivid in 1937 to accomplish that feat. The five touchdown passes tied Buivid and Matthew Stafford (2009) for the rookie record.
Winston is the third Bucs quarterback to win rookie of the month honors, joining Mike Glennon (2013) and Shaun King (1999).
