Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is relaxing in Turks and Caicos this week, but his offseason certainly wasn't a breeze. He committed himself to getting in better shape, and there's photographic evidence of the results.
According to his father, Antonor, Winston has lost about 20 pounds. His trainer, Tim Grover, who previously has worked with the likes of Michael Jordan, posted the comparison photos on Instagram. You can certainly see a difference in his waist size.
The photo on the left is from January 2015, when Winston was preparing for the NFL scouting combine. The one on the right is from this week's vacation.
So how did he manage the impressive transformation? Aside from the tough training sessions with Grover, Winston refrained from eating after 7 p.m. He also cut out eating potato chips and other fattening snacks, according to his father.
How long can @jaboowins3 hold this position while his trainer tries to knock him off balance? Here's why I do this: when one area gets hit, another must relax in order to maintain 'true' athletic balance. He held this for a full minute. #Jameis #buccaneers #attackathletics #timgrover #workinprogress #RELENTLESS
Winston and the other Bucs veterans will report for training camp July 27.
