A look at the Titans' cap situation (it's good)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans carried over the fifth-most money in the NFL from the 2014 salary cap to 2015.

A total of $11,254,828 they didn’t use last year is available to them this year.

The 2015 cap isn’t yet known, but is expected to be $140 million or even more after it was $133 million in 2014.

As of early this week, measured against the projected $140 million cap, the Titans have about $44 million in cap space.

That’s the fifth-best cap situation in the league, per the chart at the bottom of this fine free-agency post from ESPN’s Kevin Seifert.

We will revisit that piece a second time later to review what kind of fits the top free agents to-be might be in Tennessee.
