Ruston Webster: Franchise, transitions tags not in play for Titans

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans don't have a very good list of free agents and no one was forecasting that they'd be using a franchise or transition tag to ensure another year of service from one of them.

Outside linebacker Derrick Morgan is the top Titan in line to hit the market. Punter Brett Kern and kicker Ryan Succop also have expiring contracts.

None of them will be staying because of a tag.

"I don't see it as in play," general manager Ruston Webster told me on Monday.

The guy who would have warranted it, defensive end Jurrell Casey, got a long-term extension before the 2014 season.
