ASHBURN, Va., -- The Washington Redskins have an 11:10 a.m. ET practice followed by, yes, another open locker room session. Three areas of interest Friday:
Injuries. We'll get updates on linebacker Perry Riley, who has been limited this week, and safety Ryan Clark, who was limited Thursday. Plus, has Stephen Bowen progressed even more to the point he could play Sunday? That might be a bit ambitious, but they could certainly use another body inside. Corner David Amerson is a rather important one, given the corner situation. Considering he's been at least limited all week after his concussion, I'd say it looks pretty good for him but when it comes to the head you never know.
I'll finally get to the run game Friday. I watched almost all of Alfred Morris' runs this season just to get a feel for what's gone wrong in this area, in addition to speaking with players and coaches about the situation. It's not like they don't know what's gone wrong; they know. The problem is, there's not just one area to fix. But they also know it's a correctable problem, which is why they're more frustrated and upset than anything. It's on them.
I'll also have my mailbag Friday, as well as Saturday, and another in the Getting to Know series. On Sunday, it's back to the gameday notes and analysis. Yes, it's a tough season already but the beat doesn't change so the stories will keep coming. And I'll have a quick story on rookie corner Bashaud Breeland and what he learned from the third-and-13 pass that he allowed for a first down. It's not as simple as saying he was giving too much cushion. There was another issue.
