Drew expects to return Monday at Twins

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Red Sox right fielder J.D. Drew was held out of the lineup against the Kansas City Royals because of a stiff neck.

Drew says it started bothering him Friday, but he played the first two games against the Royals. Drew, who homered Friday, says it bothers him more running and throwing than hitting.

Drew had treatment scheduled Sunday in the trainer's room, plus a massage, in hopes of calming down and loosening up the stiffness. Jeremy Hermida replaced Drew in right field.

He says he should be ready to play Monday when the Red Sox open a three-game series at Minnesota, opening Target Field.
