Reggie Jackson staying in NBA draft

BOSTON -- Boston College guard Reggie Jackson says he will forgo his senior season and remain in the NBA draft.

In a statement released by the college Saturday, Jackson said the NBA "has always been a dream of mine and it is one I wish to pursue." The 6-foot-3 Jackson had until Sunday's NCAA deadline to decide whether to commit to the draft or remove his name from consideration and retain his college eligibility.

Jackson averaged 18.2 points, 4.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds last season. He was the team's leading scorer as it rebounded from a sub-.500 season and went 21-13 (9-7 Atlantic Coast Conference) under first-year coach Steve Donahue.

Jackson was named to the all-ACC team, and was an honorable mention All-America by The Associated Press.
