Pats' Rob Gronkowski fastest and latest in 60-TD club of five tight ends

INDIANAPOLIS -- New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski scored his 60th career touchdown in Sunday night's 34-27 win over the Indianapolis Colts, hitting the mark in his 70th game, a record for tight ends.

Overall, Gronkowski is just the fifth tight end to record at least 60 career touchdowns, joining Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Shannon Sharpe and Jerry Smith.

Of the group, Gates was the fastest to 60 touchdowns, accomplishing the feat in 110 games.

Gronkowski's 25-yard catch and run early in the third quarter gave the Patriots a 26-21 lead. He finished with three catches for 50 yards.

Gronkowski has 59 receiving touchdowns and one rushing. Gonzalez's 111 touchdowns is the all-time mark for a tight end. Gronkowski is the first tight end in NFL history to have three straight 10-plus touchdown seasons, with 10 in 2010, 18 in 2011 and 11 in 2012.
