Jose Ramirez-Josh Taylor: How to watch the junior welterweight unification fight on ESPN

Jose Ramirez and Josh Taylor will meet on Saturday, May 22, to unify all four major junior welterweight world titles (ESPN and ESPN+, 8 p.m. ET). The winner will become the first undisputed champion in the division since Terence Crawford accomplished that feat in August 2017 by defeating Julius Indongo.

Ramirez (26-0, 17 KOs), 28, of Avenal, California, won the then-vacant WBC junior welterweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Amir Imam in March 2018. Sixteen months later, Ramirez added the WBO belt with a sixth-round TKO victory over Maurice Hooker. He defended the belts once, a majority decision win over Viktor Postol in August.

Taylor (17-0, 13 KOs), 30, of Edinburgh, Scotland, collected the IBF version of the title with a unanimous decision victory against Ivan Baranchyk in the World Boxing Super Series semifinals in May 2019. In the WBSS final five months later, Taylor defeated favorite Regis Prograis by majority decision in a great performance to add the WBA belt. Taylor scored an easy first-round TKO victory over Apinun Khongsong in September to retain his titles.

Ramirez-Taylor for the undisputed junior welterweight championship is one of the best fights to be made in boxing, and the winner will earn the right to be called the best fighter in the division and get a chance to get closer to pound-for-pound status.
