REGINA, Saskatchewan -- Troy Mills ran for a pair of touchdowns during a 28-point third quarter that enabled the Edmonton Eskimos to withstand a furious rally and hold on for a 41-38 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday. Mills scored on runs of 29 and 5 yards and quarterback Kevin Mason passed for one touchdown and scrambled for another in the third period for Edmonton (4-7), which has won three of its last four road games. Mills rushed for 178 yards on 22 carries and Mason added 116 on 13 attempts, enabling the Eskimos to build a 299-112 advantage on the ground. But Saskatchewan (3-8) was dominant in the air as Reggie Slack and Steve Sarkisian combined for 344 passing yards. Slack was 14-for-26 for 194 yards and two touchdowns. Sarkisian capped a 23-point fourth quarter with a five-yard TD run and a pass to Mike Saunders for the two-point conversion with 1:02 left. Saunders accounted for the rest of the scoring in the final period with runs of 3 yards and 1 yard. Mason completed 10-of-17 passes for 131 yards with a touchdown and interception.
