BOX SCORE
WINNIPEG, Manitoba (Ticker) -- Danny McManus threw four touchdown passes to Danny Akins, leading the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to another rout of the last-place Winnipeg Blue Bombers, 43-16. McManus was an efficient 19-of-21 for 411 yards without an interception. Akins was his favorite target, hauling in eight receptions for 257 yards. The Tiger-Cats (8-6), who will clinch a playoff berth if Edmonton loses on Monday at B.C., have beaten Winnipeg three times this season by a combined margin of 147-40. On September 18, Hamilton posted the most lopsided victory in team history, whipping the Blue Bombers, 65-15. After Robert Cameron's 56-yard single off a missed punt gave Winnipeg a 1-0 lead, McManus and Akins combined for scoring strikes of 70, 35 and 44 yards as the Ti-Cats opened a 20-point lead. McManus found Akins again in the final minute of the second quarter to give Hamilton a 28-10 halftime lead. Ronald Williams ran for a pair of third-quarter touchdowns for the Tiger-Cats, finishing with 79 yards on 15 carries. Hamilton had a whopping 593 total yards, compared to 347 for the Blue Bombers. Kerwin Bell was 28-of-41 for 281 yards and a touchdown for Winnipeg (4-10), which has lost four of its last five home games and is just 1-5 against Eastern Conference foes.
