Stanford Steve and The Bear: National championship game pick, prop bets

We've made it to the finish line of a college football season like no other. The journey was difficult and messy, but it all comes down to a pair of the elite.

And here's our own elite pair, Stanford Steve Coughlin and Chris "The Bear" Fallica, breaking down the game as only they can. A hint: Neither is a fan of the total.

College Football Playoff National Championship presented by AT&T

No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes vs. No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide (-8.5, 75.5)

(Monday, 8 p.m. ET on ESPN; at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida)

Ohio State +8.5, under 75.5

Stanford Steve: It shouldn't be a problem for Ryan Day to get his guys up again for a national championship game after they beat Clemson in the semifinals, a game that they had circled for a year. But most importantly, I think they found about a lot about themselves. Now, can they play as well as they did in the Sugar Bowl a little more than a week ago? I think Day will try to feed running back Trey Sermon as much as possible in the run game and try to keep the Bama offense off the field. I'll take the Buckeyes to cover.
