Chicago White Sox centerfielder Alejandro De Aza will be placed on the disabled list prior to Tuesday's game with a strained oblique, according to multiple sources.
De Aza incurred the injury on Aug. 17 in the first game of a series between the Sox and Royals in Kansas City. Outfielder Jordan Danks will be called up from Triple-A Charlotte as a corresponding move, according to a source. The move will be retroactive to Aug. 18. De Aza has missed three games since getting hurt.
As the team's leadoff hitter, De Aza is hitting .281 with 6 home runs and 44 RBIs. He also leads the team in runs (73) and stolen bases (21).
