DeKALB, Ill. -- Jeremy Granger scored 16 points and contributed six assists Sunday to lead Eastern Illinois past Northern Illinois 67-55.
Granger scored most of his points from the free-throw line, where he was 10 for 11. That nearly matched Northern Illinois' team output of 11 for 13.
Alfonzo McKinnie added 12 points for the Panthers (2-1).
Northern Illinois led 47-45 after Tyler Storm's basket with 8:11 to play. But the Huskies (0-3) went nearly six minutes without a field goal while Eastern Illinois went on a 16-1 run to put the game away.
Abdel Nader led Northern Illinois with 11 points and Storm finished with 10.
