Danieal Manning plays vs. Oakland

CHICAGO -- Bears safety Danieal Manning and tight end Brandon Manumaleuna made their preseason debuts Saturday night.

Manning (hamstring) and Manumaleuna (knee) were held out of the Bears' first preseason game last weekend in San Diego, but each returned to the practice field this past week in Bourbonnais. Manning and Chris Harris are scheduled to start at safety versus the Raiders, while Manumaleuna could be used in a variety of capacities, including lining up in the backfield as a fullback.

Meanwhile, a shoulder stinger will sideline veteran long-snapper Patrick Mannelly, meaning Desmond Clark was handling all snapping duties. Clark is listed as the backup to Mannelly on the Bears official preseason depth chart.

Major Wright (finger surgery), Craig Steltz (high ankle sprain), Caleb Hanie (grade 2 right AC joint sprain), Earl Bennett(hamstring), Josh Bullocks (quad) and Jarron Gilbert will all miss Saturday's contest.

Hunter Hillenmeyer played despite injuring his foot last week against the Chargers. Also, Brian Iwuh made his preseason debut with the Bears. Pisa Tinoisamoa started at strongside linebacker.

Jeff Dickerson covers the Bears for ESPNChicago.com and ESPN 1000.
