Caleb Hanie agrees to terms with Bears

BOURBONNAIS, Il. -- Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Hanie signed his one-year restricted free agent tender worth $1.2 million on Friday, according to an NFL source.

Hanie joined the Bears in 2008 and has spent the past three seasons serving as the team's backup quarterback. He came off the bench in the 2010 NFC Championship Game against the eventual Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers and nearly led the Bears back from a 14-0 fourth quarter deficit. Hanie completed 13 of 20 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown against one of the top defenses in the NFL.

Hanie is expected to open training camp as the team's No. 2 quarterback behind incumbent starter Jay Cutler.
